Summer is quickly arriving and with it the familiar buzz of activity around Austin. The first week was already hopping with multiple festivals, concerts, and other exciting events. If you missed out, don't worry! There's always something to do to keep the boredom at bay. Thanks to the new city tourism website Visit Austin, here is a list of just a few of the upcoming dates to circle on your calendar...

5/12/17 - 5/21/17 Austin Fashion Week Locations around Austin Austin Fashion Week showcases the work of fashion designers, photographers, hair stylists, makeup artists and models from around the state of Texas with over a hundred including runway shows, designer meet-and-greets, themed parties and benefits for Austin non-profits. www.afw.fashionxaustin.com

5/13/17 O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships Brush Square Park The O. Henry Museum's 40th annual Pun-Off is Austin's punniest event by far. 64 punsters will go head-to-head in this humorous wordplay competition, taking place in the backyard of Austin author William Sydney Porter's (also known as O. 5/13/17 Maifest Austin Saengerrunde and Scholz Garten TX German Bier Festival hosts this annual festival celebrating German heritage (and food) in Texas. Enjoy special tastings from Texas craft brewers, a community cookout and plenty of fun. Live music, dancing and local vendors will round out the event. www.saengerrunde.org

5/13/17 - 5/14/17 and 5/20/17 - 5/21/17 West Austin Studio Tour Across West Austin The West Austin Studio Tour is a free, self-guided tour that celebrates Austin's talented and wildly diverse creative community. The public is invited to discover new artistic talent, see working studios, learn about artists' tools, techniques and inspirations, explore galleries and a variety of exhibitions, and immerse themselves in the arts and local business communities. www.west.bigmedium.org

5/20/17 Ney Day Elisabet Ney Museum Celebrate Austin-based artist Elisabet Ney and her inspirational legacy at the fifth annual Ney Day. 5/28/17 Jazz Blues Soul Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex Join the Austin Area Jazz Fest for a celebration of music, culture, diversity and the arts. 5/29/17 Life Time Tri CapTex Lady Bird Lake, Downtown Austin The Life Time triathlon attracts all levels of athletes from top ranked professionals to first-time triathletes.
